Here are the details of the last ten events at Ian’s Studio. We maintain this list so that photographers can look up details of the events they attended. If you need to find an older event please visit the Event Archives
If a model was working at the event, then you will probably be able to find her portfolio mentioned on the event listing. Most portfolio listing sites permit registered photographers to contact the models through the site. If you have some great images from the event, I always try to encourage photographers to share those images with the models who made them possible.

The “Red Set” has been very popular in the past at Ian’s Studio. Now for the first time, I am running this as a premium event.
Although COVID restrictions have currently been lifted – for the time being, all workshops will be restricted numbers to enable social distancing. For the protection of anyone at the workshop who may not yet be double-vaccinated, or for whom the vaccine may not be 100% effective, I am asking all attendees to wear a face-covering while at the studio. Thanks for your understanding with this.
With just three photographers you will get much more time shooting throughout the evening than would be possible at a ‘normal’ group shoot.
At this event you will have the opportunity to shoot images using the red set – this includes red background, red sofa and red blinds. We will look at techniques for creating voyeuristic images, glamour images, and also how to light our subject through the Venetian blinds to create moody images with the shadow of the blinds across our subject. Our model will, of course, be wearing a red dress and red lingerie and will be posing from clothed to nude.

Lily is new to modelling and I recently shot with her on the red set at the studio (It’s Lily you can see in the eFlyer for this event) and was VERY impressed with her. At this event we will be looking at creating a range of “blood-soaked” images. In addition to a range of different lighting techniques, you will also learn how to create large quantities of fake blood.
During the evening you will have the opportunity to shoot a number of different setups with our model. These include
- “Carrie” (white dress with blood)
- Mad axe killer (see eFlyer!)
- Lilith from True Blood (Nude female covered head to toe in blood)
As a bonus, (subject to model approval and subject to government guidelines on social distancing) there should also be an opportunity to shoot Jason “Friday the Thirteenth” Voorhees terrorising his victim.

Time to shoot some classic art nude!

Join us for an evening shooting with model Dante-Layla. Dante-Layla is probably best known for her latex outfits and I am pleased to say that she will be bringing some to the event for us to shoot.
Photographically, I’m going to include some lighting setups with gels so if you want to learn how to work with gels this is a good event for you to attend.
Dante-Layla will be working to lingerie levels for this event.

A minimum of three photographers booking will be required to run this event.
This session covers three lighting techniques for Art Nude photography. Each technique uses just one light, what makes these lighting setups different to those covered in the other one light art nude workshop is that we do not use studio background paper. The lighting set-ups covered at this session are:
- White wall, High-key, large softbox with a bounce board
- Grided spot on a boom stand (to shoot a model on the floor)
- Gridded beauty dish angled down the wall
The session is a practical session and you will have the opportunity to practice these types of lighting by photographing a model. You will be provided with lighting diagrams for the lighting set-ups taught at this session.
Please note: That we have a number of Art Nude sessions. Each session is designed to teach different techniques, with the minimum of overlap. The sessions can be done in any order and no previous studio experience is required for any of the sessions.
Suitable for: Anyone wanting to learn how to art nude photography in the studio. Your camera must have a standard hot-shoe to accommodate the lighting trigger. You will need to be able to set your camera to manual mode and select an aperture in the range f/5.6 – f/11. No prior studio experience is necessary.
