Layla G at “Back to Basics – Portraiture” event at Ian’s Studio
This is from our “Back to Basics – Portraiture” session. One of my favourite beauty portrait techniques. So called clam shell lighting. We have a beauty dish above front of Layla. (I am actually shooting with my hands either side of the stand to hold the camera) then just out of shot below at about 45 degrees is a reflector to fill in the shadows under Layla’s chin.
In lightroom I have reduced the clarity down to soften the skin and painted back possitive clarity on to just the hair, eyes and mouth. I have also reduced the saturation slightly.
